Cleaning Up Hungary

In the Spring, Hungary has a country-wide clean-up day. Many people in the Pécs Branch, including some of our Young Adults, volunteered to spend a few hours on Saturday to help (yellow vests). We also did this last year when we lived in Szombathely.Clean-up with Others in Pécs

We had Mormon ‘Helping Hands’ (Segítő Kezek) yellow vests that showed we were from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

We were given a specific location to pick up all the trash, along with other volunteers. They also gave us each a pair of gloves, and a large white plastic bag to put all of the trash into. As the day went on, we filled many of the large white bags. Our group worked long and hard finding trash. Many in the Pécs Clean-up Group

At the end of the project, we all went for a well-deserved ice cream cone (actually, it was Gelato). On the way to the ice cream stand, we all passed out at least one pass-along card. It was a fun, and productive, service project.Clean-up Group with Ice Cream
