This beautiful painting shown below was done by Adam Abram in 2008. Adam is the brother of one of our newest young missionary in Hungary – Elder Abram from Orem. Elder Abram, who is also an artist, carries a copy of this painting along with his other photos of home. When referring to the painting, his brother comments that “Christ’s suffering in Gethsemane is beyond our understanding, but as intense as it was, He persevered through it. As we suffer through our own times of trial, as intense as they may be, we must never give up.”

Gethsemane, Adam Abram 2008
When we think about ‘times of trial’ consider the feelings of the parents discussed in our next post, which was also from one of our new young Elders (Elder Walker from Idaho).

I was profoundly moved by this painting, and it will stay with me for a very long time.

Maybe when he gets home, he’ll follow a little in his brother’s footsteps? If he doesn’t choose to continue painting/drawing, he could start writing books!
